ITS Lecture Series – Father Henryk Henryk Ślusarczyk

As part of the ITS lecture series, on April 17, Father Henryk Ślusarczyk SVD was invited by ITS to give a speech on his work and life in Angola during the country’s multi-ethnic conflicts and civil war. Chinese-English simultaneous interpreting was provided for the speech by the second-year Chinese students.

Father Henryk Ślusarczyk SVD is a Divine Word missionary from the Polish Province of St Joseph. From 1995-2008 Father Henryk worked in Angola serving as rector of the Diocesan Seminary in N’dalatando and in the Divine Word seminary in the suburbs of Luanda.

Father Henryk specializes in biblical spirituality and intercultural communication. He has an extensive experience as religious translator and interpreter. During Pope Francis’ visit at the World Youth Day in Poland in July of 2016, he was a simultaneous interpreter from Polish into Portuguese and into English. Currently Father Henryk is the director of the Verbite Printery in Poland and also regularly offers retreats and conferences for religious congregations, youth and cross-cultural ministries.
