Graduate Program in Interpreting and Translation Studies

Corbin“During my time in the M.A. in Interpreting and Translation Studies program at Wake Forest University, the amount of academic knowledge and professional formation that I received was endless. The program’s interdisciplinary coursework provided me with immeasurable exposure to a number of different career paths and academic concentrations within the language field. The intensive interpreting and translation specific course prepared me beyond my expectations for a career in the language services industry. The program not only helped me improve my weaknesses and build upon my strengths; it also helped me develop a number of the essential competencies necessary to hone my skills as a competent interpreter and translator. The professors’ expertise in their respective academic fields and extensive professional experience bring a vast amount of specialized knowledge to the classroom. This, coupled with their clear desire to help their students succeed both academically during the program’s duration and professionally after graduation, truly makes the program both a unique experience and an invaluable resource. Overall, I attribute much of my academic progress and many of my professional successes to the training that I received during my time as a student of the program. I highly recommend the M.A. in Interpreting and Translation Studies program to anyone who seeks to drastically improve their skills as a professional interpreter/translator or expand their knowledge of the linguistic field and the language services industry.”
