Chinese Minister-Counselor Cen Jianjun Meets with ITS Co-director Dr. Chaowei Zhu

On August 1st, 2017, Mr. Cen Jianjun, the Minister-Counselor for Education of the Embassy of China, met with Dr. Chaowei Zhu, the ITS Chinese-English Co-Director, at the Education Office of the Embassy of China in Washington D.C. Second Secretary Jie Gao from the Office of Education Affairs of the Chinese Embassy also attended the meeting.

Dr. Zhu remarked afterwards that he introduced Minister-Counselor Cen to the ITS program at WFU and how, under the joint leadership of Dr. Olgierda Furmanek and Dr. Sarah Barbour, the Chinese-English track has grown into one of the largest graduate programs of its kind on the East Coast. Minister-Counselor Cen expressed his support and praise for the contributions Dr. Zhu has made to the language and cultural exchanges between U.S. and China and he hoped Dr. Zhu continues to play a leading role in this regard.
