1st International Conference on Computational and Corpus Linguistics

In May Dr. Diego Burgos traveled to Bogotá, Colombia, to present at the 1st International Conference on Computational and Corpus Linguistics. This is the second in a series of events Dr. Burgos has helped to organize to create a network both nationally and internationally in the fields of computational and corpus linguistics. Keynote speakers included Dr. Mark Davis of Brigham and Young University, author of the largest corpora available to date, Dr. Alexander Gelbukh, Director of the Center for Computacional Research, Instituto Politécnico Nacional, México, and Dr. Ruslan Mitkov of the University of Wolverhampton, UK.

Dr. Burgos presented as co-author along with Gabriel Quiroz, Antonio Tamayo, Felipe Zuluaga, Pedro Patiño, Alejandro Arroyave and Gustavo Zapata  in “Banco de Herramientas TNT: una plataforma para el procesamiento de corpus y otras herramientas” and with Antonio Tamayo and Gabriel Quiroz in “Machine Learning-Oriented Definition of Linguistic Features for Document-Level Sentiment Analysis in Spanish.”
